Extend your Hells Canyon experience at a stay in either Idaho or Oregon. Many lodging options are just a short drive away from our launch site. Below are our favorite places to stay and play!  The Hells Canyon National Recreation Area has many beautiful parks to choose from along with many free sites along Brownlee, Oxbow and Hells Canyon reservoirs.  

Halfway, Oregon is a small town nestled into the foothills of the Wallowa Whitman National Forest, located approximately 54 miles from Baker City, OR and 18 Miles from Hells Canyon and the Snake River. Halfway is a great place to spend a few days while enjoying Hells Canyon.

Cambridge, Idaho 64 miles from the Hells Canyon Visitor Center, this small town offers an abundance of natural beauty and endless recreational opportunities. With its charming downtown, friendly people, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and countryside, Cambridge has something for everyone. The town also features boutique shops, art galleries, and other attractions that make it easy to have fun while exploring Hells Canyon.

Wood Head Park

Woodhead Park is spread over 65 acres, divided into four camping loops and is on the Idaho side of Brownlee Reservoir. There is a reservable day-use picnic shelter. Day use in the park is free. Amenities include the following: 118 RV sites with water and electric hookups (30-amp), 15 walk-in tent sites with shared water, no electric hookups. Copperfield Park

Located near the town of Oxbow, Oregon, on Hells Canyon Road and Oregon Highway 86. Copperfield Park includes 12 acres of manicured lawn, paved roads, terraced landscaping and numerous trees. 59 RV sites with water and electric hookups (30-amp), 10 tent sites with shared water

Hells Canyon Park

Located on Hells Canyon Road, six miles downstream of Copperfield Park and the little town of Oxbow, Oregon. This is only a few miles from the Hells Canyon Visitor Center and tour starting point. Day use in the park is free. 21 RV sites (parallel parking) with water and electric hookups (30-amp) and tent camping.

Cambridge has some good restaurants and some small-town night life. Cambridge is 64 miles from the launch location at Hells Canyon Dam you should allow about an hour and a half drive time.
